At Books & Beans, we want you to enjoy every purchase. If something isn't quite right, we're happy to help.
Your Right to Cancel
If you are purchasing as a consumer within the European Union, you generally have the right to cancel your online purchase within 14 days of receiving your order, without giving a reason.
To exercise your right to cancel, please contact us within the 14-day cancellation period by email or through our contact form. Once you've informed us, you'll have another 14 days to return the item(s).
Return Conditions
To be eligible for a refund, returned items must:
Be in their original condition.
Be unused and free from damage.
Include any original packaging where reasonably possible.
We reserve the right to reduce the refund if the product has been handled beyond what is necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning.
Non-Returnable Items
The following items cannot normally be returned unless they are faulty or damaged:
Gift cards.
Digital products or downloadable content.
Products made to your specifications or specially ordered for you where the legal exceptions apply.
Sealed products that are unsuitable for return for health or hygiene reasons once opened (if applicable).
Damaged or Incorrect Items
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 7 days of delivery.
Please include:
Your order number.
A description of the issue.
Clear photographs of the item and packaging.
We'll work with you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible, whether that means a replacement, exchange, or refund.
Refunds
Once we have received and inspected your returned item(s), we'll notify you of the outcome.
If your return is approved, your refund will be processed using the original payment method.
Refunds are typically issued within 14 days after we receive the returned goods or after you've provided proof that the goods have been returned, whichever comes first.
Return Shipping Costs
If you are returning an item because you've changed your mind, the cost of returning the item is your responsibility unless stated otherwise.
If the return is due to an error on our part or because the item is damaged or faulty, we'll cover the reasonable return shipping costs.
Exchanges
If you'd like to exchange an item, please contact us before sending it back so we can discuss the best solution.
Special Orders
Books ordered specifically at your request may not be eligible for cancellation or return where an exception under applicable consumer law applies. If this applies, we'll make this clear before confirming your order.
If a special-order book arrives damaged or defective, your statutory consumer rights remain fully applicable.

Please contact us before returning your order so we can provide the correct return instructions.
Include:
Your order number.
Your name.
The reason for the return (optional for cancellations within the legal withdrawal period).
